As a person who lives in Treaty #4 territory, I would like to acknowledge that these lands are the territories of the nêhiyawak, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis/Michif Nation. We respect and honour these treaties. As people who live in Treaty #4 territory, we must educate ourselves about treaty history and how they affect us today in order that we may fulfil our duties as treaty peoples.
